Be Ready to Help Wave 2 Colleagues with Identity and Contact Corrections

Connect Care's information about physicians, including basics like preferred name and contact numbers, is drawn from medical affairs and other provincial sources. Some information might be outdated. For example, many Edmonton Zone physicians have recently swapped cell numbers for pager numbers.

Wave 1 launch taught us that Connect Care on-boarding provides an important opportunity to tweak information about physician specialties (roles), demographics and contact  information.

It is important for Super Users to know how to rapidly help new users to submit requests for corrections related to AHS Access, Connect Care role and Connect Care Phone Book information.

Where's my SUP?

The SUP instance of Hyperspace is a copy of PRD and so valuable when working through problem scenarios brought to us by users. It contains actual patient data. It can be used to test complex workflows, without actually altering any production records.

It is important that physician informaticians retain access to SUP.

There was a bit of a hiccup when SUP was removed from regular users. Post launch, it is no longer needed and it was causing some error when users were documenting in SUP instead of PRD.

The recent change caused all favoriting of SUP to disappear. So, if you had marked SUP as a favourite, you might think that your access was removed. You can re-favourite.

The other source of confusion is that SUP has been moved to the Training folder. Look there before reporting that you have lost access.

Let us know (CMIO@ahs.ca) if you have truly lost SUP access and we will ask (again) for it to be restored.

Identity and Access Management Portal Downtime

An Alberta Netcare Portal (ANP) planned downtime for October 17 evening will impact the Identity & Access Management (IAM) portal for some hours between 2030 on 2019-10-17 and 0100 on 2019-10-18.

During this time, IAM will not be available for capturing network access requests, remote network access requests of updates to AHS users' information profiles. This is important because we've recently posted about use of IAM to check and correct physician information.

Connect Care Access Portal in Production

Previous postings have alerted Connect Care medical informaticians to changes in Internet links used to gain access to pre-production and production clinical information system (CIS) environments.

The Unified Access Portal (UAP) has stabilized and is now in production. This involved final tweaks to the UAP addresses used when connecting from inside and outside the Alberta Health Services (AHS) intranet firewall.

For those who have used CMIO physician shortcuts, there is nothing to change. For those who have used prior UAP Internet links, as of today (Sept 13, 2019) myapps.ahs.ca goes to production and uat-myapps.ahs.ca goes to pre-production, with the same links active on and off the Intranet. "mystore.ahs.ca" and "uat-mystore.ahs.ca" are no longer supported

We continue to provide simple shortcuts that always direct to the correct access portal. These can be simplified even further:

• Pre-Production (TRN, POC, TST, SBX, etc.): ahs-cis.ca/cisuat 
• Production (PRD, PLY): ahs-cis.ca/cis

All Connect Care Physician Informaticians - Please Test...

It is important that everything needed for physicians to access the Connect Care clinical information system, both inside the AHS networks (Intranet) and outside (extranet) and for mobility and desktop devices, is anticipated and taken care of before personalization workshops begin later this month.

There have been changes to the access portals recently.

For starters, we need all physician design leads, ACMIOs, medical informatics leads, knowledge leads, power users, super users and builders to confirm their intranet and extranet portal access. Please use the following two links to check to see if you can log on to the physician access portal (AHS UAP):
